Twenty-four hours was first exhibited in 2010 as my final-year exhibition in TU Dublin.
1440 pieces of cardboard in varying dimensions were painted for the duration of one minute each. A new colour was mixed for each painting, and depending on the size of the piece of card, the paintings were gestural and quick or slow and thickly applied. The final accumulation of paintings was installed as a painting composition encompassing the space they occupied. The work became sculptural in its installation.

The work was subsequently selected to represent Ireland at the NEU/NOW festival in Nantes; it won the RDS Lewis Crosby Award for painting and won the Talbot Gallery most promising graduate award.
